Student Instruction Sheet: Mission 3

In this mission, your GeoTeam will apply what you learned about the relation between environment and human activity in Mission 1 and what you learned about self-sufficiency in Mission 2 to make predictions about the economic and recreational activities in a new region.  You will then compare these predictions to an actual region of the world.
 

  1. Your teacher will assign your team to one of the following regions. The regions have been given pseudonyms to hide their identity. Review the information provided about your region.
    Region 1: Steppesylvania
    Region 2: Archipelago
    Region 3: Urbania
    Region 4: Forest River
    Region 5: Glacierview
    Region 6: The Cactus Hills
  2. Based on the information given about the region, what predicitions can you make about the economic and recreational activities of the region?
  3. What predictions can you make about the trade that will be necessary to sustain human life in that region?
  4. Check out the following regions of the world, and based on your predicitions about economic and recreational activities and necessary trade, decide which region is your's. Share your prediction with your teacher.
